Bay/bow dimensions

Please enter the widths of the sides of your bay and the angles between the sides.

Overall height: mm

A bay or bow window consists of a number of windows (sides) connected by poles. The poles can be variable angled circular poles or fixed angled posts for angles of 90 or 135 degrees. In most cases the window sides sit on a welded cill.

Measuring guide:

1Measure the window widths from the inside ensuring you measure to the centre of any existing poles. For this you may need to chop back the plaster in order to see the edge of the existing window to ensure your measurement is accurate.
2Again from the inside measure each angle between the windows. You will need an accurate method of obtaining these angles such as an angle finder.
3Measure the height of your windows from the outside and include any existing cills. If no cill is required (for example existing stone cill) then please measure to the bottom of the window frame.
4Finally, please check again all entered dimensions as you will receive exactly what you have ordered. If you are unsure how to measure a bay, please consult a professional.

Important notes

90 degree angles

All bays containing 90 degree angles will have square corner posts.

135 degree angles (excluding sash windows)
Bays with angles of 135 degrees will be manufactured with special 135 degree fixed posts, in slightly smaller window widths than ordered in order to fit the posts.

All other angles

Bays with other angles will be manufactured with a variable bay pole, in slightly smaller window widths in order to fit the poles (depending upon angles required). In the case of 180 degrees the easiest way to unite separate windows and doors is using a coupler instead of a pole.

All our poles and posts are reinforced, except sash.

Sash bay poles can be load bearing if jacks are purchased at an additional cost.

Always measure from under any existing removable cill
unless you are keeping the existing cill or buying a cill from somewhere else
