How do I measure my window openings for shaped windows?

All our windows are made to measure, ensuring they perfectly fit your home's unique design. However, measuring your shaped windows accurately is key to getting a perfect fit.

Here are some guidelines:

General tips

Always measure from the outside, brickwork to brickwork, in millimetres (mm)
Measure the width at the base of the opening and subtract around 10mm for fitting allowance
Take multiple width and height measurements across different points and note any angles
Include the full height up to the highest point of the opening, including any sills. If there's a sill, measure from underneath unless it's a fixed stone sill
If your wall is rendered, remove some render to reveal the true brickwork edge. You may need frame extenders

For circular or round windows

Measure the width of the opening – this will be used as the diameter
If it's a semicircle, check that the height is exactly half the width. If it's not, we'll need a physical template to manufacture accurately

For triangle windows

Measure the base width and both side heights
If possible, also provide the internal angles or a sketch

What warranty do your shaped windows come with?

Frames: Our Heritage 2800 window and door frames come with a 10-year guarantee. This covers colour fading, shape changes and impact damage.
Finishes: The guarantee applies to all finishes, including flat white and woodgrain or textured laminated UPVC.
Glass: The sealed glass units have a 10-year guarantee against condensation inside the glass.
