Guide for measuring your Aluminium Partition

1Measure the overall width
Measure the width of the opening in three places: at the top, in the middle, at the bottom. Use the smallest width measurement when ordering. This helps make sure the partition will fit if the walls are not perfectly straight.
2Measure the overall height
Measure the height of the opening in three places:on the left side, in the centre, on the right side. Use the smallest height measurement when ordering. This helps make sure the frame will fit if the floor or ceiling is slightly uneven.
3Check the floor, walls and ceiling
Use a spirit level if possible. Check that: the floor is level, both side walls are plumb, the ceiling of the opening is level, the opening is square enough for a framed partition.
Small variations are common, but large differences should be checked before ordering.

L-shape partitions:

If you want an L-shaped or corner partition, it is normally treated as two separate partitions joined at a corner. You will need to order:

  • 1) the main partition including the supplied corner post
  • 2) the corner section partition that attaches to the corner post including the space for the post

Measure each run separately:
  • measure the overall width of the main partition run including the corner post width
  • measure the width of the corner section partition run including the corner post width
  • measure the height in both areas
The corner post sits between the two partition runs and provides the fixing point for the corner section. Make sure the corner position is clearly shown when ordering.
